ABILENE, TX – Advanced Eyecare & Vintage Eyewear (AEVE) has officially welcomed a new optometrist to their growing team, announcing the addition of Nealy Edmondson, O.D., to their Abilene and Eastland locations. A native of central west Texas, Dr. Edmondson returns to her roots after years of academic achievement and rigorous optometric training.

With a passion for rural health, patient-centered care, and her deep community ties, she brings a unique combination of clinical excellence and small-town heart to AEVE’s mission of delivering high-quality vision care to local families.

Dr. Edmondson’s journey to AEVE began with a commitment to serve those around her. Raised helping her grandparents on their ranch, she learned the value of hard work and dedication early on. That foundation led her to academic success — graduating valedictorian from Roby High School, earning dual degrees in Biology and Business from Texas A&M, and most recently completing her doctorate from UIW Rosenberg School of Optometry, where she graduated cum laude and received multiple service accolades.

Dr. Edmondson’s clinical experience is extensive and diverse. While at Rosenberg School of Optometry, she completed rotations across Texas and New Mexico, gaining hands-on training in primary eye care, ocular disease, pediatrics, and specialty contact lenses. Her rotations and private practice settings emphasized medical optometry and patient-first philosophy.

This well-rounded background gives her the ability to manage everything from routine vision exams to complex cases involving diabetes, glaucoma, and dry eye.

But what truly sets Dr. Edmondson apart is her heart for rural communities. Having grown up in the area and now returning to serve the people, she’s always called neighbors; she brings an uncommon understanding of local health challenges — and a deeply personal investment in solving them. Her decision to join AEVE is a homecoming in every sense and a continuation of her commitment to serving others with excellence, humility, and grace.

At AEVE, Dr. Edmondson will be seeing patients at both their Abilene and Eastland offices. Her presence ensures that patients at both locations will benefit from more availability, shorter wait times, and expanded service options — all with the same AEVE promise of individualized care in a welcoming environment.
